NAIDOC Perth
is a community based initiative staffed by Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander volunteers. The group started
in September 2006 and incorporated in January 2008.
The NAIDOC
Perth Committee has four aims for NAIDOC 2008:
- to
manage the NAIDOC Perth Opening Ceremony on Sunday
6 July 2008 at Wellington Square;
- to
manage the NAIDOC Perth Ball on Friday 11 July 2008
at the Hyatt Regency;
- to
manage the NAIDOC Perth Awards, which will be presented
at the Opening Ceremony; and
- to
promote NAIDOC events in Perth through a program
of events, website and media campaign.
