Perth NAIDOC 2009
Opening Ceremony

The NAIDOC Perth Opening Ceremony was held on Sunday 5 July 2009 at Wellington Square East Perth, between 12pm and 4pm. This was a free event open to all ages, a great family event.

Here is the printed version of the Opening Ceremony Program

The NAIDOC Perth Opening Ceremony will:

  • officially open NAIDOC week celebrations in Perth with a flag raising ceremony and Welcome to Country;
  • showcase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music and dance;
  • promote the NAIDOC Perth Awards
  • promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services, organisations and businesses with community stalls;
  • provide cultural and fun children’s activities; and
  • provide Indigenous and other foods (some free tastings).

    at the NAIDOC Perth Opening Ceremony.

Stall Registration information:

* Registrations have closed, all spots are now filled*

NAIDOC Perth are calling for community groups, government agencies, businesses, corporate organisations and not-for-profit organisations to host stalls at the NAIDOC Perth Opening & Awards Ceremony on Sunday 5 July 2009, Wellington Square, East Perth.


Information for stall holders:

  • Stalls cost $200 each or $100 for not-for-profit organisations, plus GST.
  • Stalls will be housed in a marquee at Wellington Square, East Perth.
  • Stalls must be relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Stalls will be 3m x 3m each with a trestle table and 2 chairs.
  • Stall holders must have their site set up by 11.00am and cannot packed away until 4pm and must be gone by 6.00pm.
  • Stall holders can arrive anytime after 9.30am.
